He's driving down the country road. There is not a car or another person in sight, as it should be. He is on his way to his cottage, well, more of a cabin really. A lakeside one bedroom cabin that he had bought a few years ago, from a widower who had built it as a wedding present to his bride, fifty years ago. He liked this cabin because it was secluded. Even if he lived alone, he found the city to be noisy and busy, so on weekends, he liked to come out here for some peace and quiet. He never invited anybody to accompany him, because he liked having his quiet time. He had friends in the city, but this was his getaway., and as he drove down this highway, he would turn off the music, open his window, and would listen to the birds and other wildlife.
As he goes around a curve, he sees a person walking up ahead. Odd. There is never anybody walking around here, because there is nothing out here. As he approaches, he notices that the person is a girl, and she's carrying a back pack. The girl turns to face him and sticks out her thumb. She doesn't look homeless or dangerous, so he starts to slow down. When she realizes that he is going to stop for her, she smiles. It is a radiant smile, and it makes him smile in return.
He stops beside her, and she gets in. She is a pretty girl with shoulder length blonde hair and green eyes. She thanks him for picking her up and tells him her name is Jan. He tells her his name and asks her how she came to be on this road. She tells him that she was on her way to a resort a little north of there, to meet some college friends. They had planned this getaway and they were supposed to leave together, but Jan had a lab to finish, and it took longer than she had anticipated. So she told them to leave without her and she would find her own way there.
She had taken the bus from the city to the closest town, but instead of walking down the busier highway, she took this quiet one. She thought she could get a ride, and if she didn't, it didn't matter, because it was nice countryside and she liked to listen to the birds, and watch the wildlife.
They talked while they drove, pointing out the various animals and sites they saw. While they talked, they flirted casually with each other. She had such a pretty smile, and a very friendly, easy going personality. He decided to do something he never did, he would ask her if she would like to come up to his cabin. When he asked her, she gave him a sly look and said sure.
When they got to the cabin, they got out of the car and walked around for a bit. They ended up at the end of the dock, and stood there looking at the lake. They saw the duck bobbing in the water. They heard the fish jump. They laughed when they saw the pudgy beaver come out of the water and waddle down the edge of the lake, with a stick in his mouth.
Their hands touched, and wordlessly, they turned around, and started to walk back up to the cabin, hand in hand. When they got inside, they made their way to the couch. They looked into each others' eyes, and slowly, their lips met.
They fell to the couch, and their kissing became more urgent. His lips went down her neck, kissing it slowly. Her eyes are closed, and she has a small smile on her lips. His kisses go to the front of her throat, and starts to go down. As he unbuttons her blouse, one button at a time, he kisses her, underneath. He undoes the front of her bra, and kisses in between her breasts. His lips slide down her belly, and he starts to undo the front of her jeans.
Her breath quickens, as he slides his hands inside the waist band of her pants and panties, and starts to pull them down. She raises her hips, to facilitate the removal of her pants and underwear. As he slides, her pants down, he notices a strawberry shaped birthmark.
He stops and looks up to her face. Jan? As in Janet? He sits up. She opens her eyes and curiously looks at him. It is her! It is his long lost sister. Their parents were killed in a car crash when he was ten years old, and she was four. He was sent to a group home and she was put into foster care. They never saw each other again.
After all this time, they are reunited.
